The past year has been a busy one here at Wild Sun Rescue Center: educating over 180 interns, volunteers, and continuing ed for vets. Caring for 80 orphaned and injured animals with 26 releases this year.
With support from World Parrot Trust and community partners, we placed 10 artificial macaw nest boxes in the community; three of which have an active breeding pair in them, plus our first official hatchling in the wild. We’ve made onsite improvements, including connections between howler enclosures to give them more space to climb and moved our pre-release kitchen away from the animals.

Growing at an exponential rate, Wild Sun is in dire need of new infrastructure including animal enclosures, veterinary buildings, and clinical equipment.
