Eggsy

Eggsy was found orphaned with an open wound on her back when she was only 1 week old. After almost a year of rehabilitation efforts at Wild Sun, she was integrated with other capuchin monkeys, and is now one of our most energetic, mischievous and curious monkeys. Eggsy will be released once she is old and strong enough to survive in the wild.

Margherita

Margherita, a juvenile white-faced capuchin, was very lucky to be found by one of our volunteers on their day off. It seems she had fallen and suffered head trauma, leaving her barely responsive, lying alone on side of the road with severe bruising and already covered in fly eggs.

Our friends from @somoscongos quickly brought her to the rescue center for treatment where she has made an amazing recovery. While she was very anxious in the beginning, he has now settled in, loves engaging with enrichment items and and is growing stronger every day.

Capuchins are very social, and she is now being introduced to our other juveniles. Forming a troop is an important part of their rehabilitation, as they will be released together once they are old enough.

Until then, they still needs our care and we are building a larger enclosure where they they can learn the necessary skills to be independent will success in the wild once released.
