Credit for Internships
College credit may be provided through a partner school in the United States, Seattle Central College. Not all schools will accept this transfer credit so it is imperative that students seek approval from their home school PRIOR to enrollment for credit. This usually involves showing your home school the course description and syllabus offered through Seattle Central and asking the study abroad office, registrar's office or a general advisement center about transfer-ability.
You can find the relevant courses and their syllabi here. Both International Internship or Travel Study may apply :
Cost of Courses at Seattle Central:
5 quarter credits (3 semester credits): $660.00
10 quarter credits (6 semester credits): $1,320.00
Up to 6 semester credits can be obtained through a 4 week session.
**Program fees for credit are in addition to regular program fees for the PVI program and are to be handled separately between the student and SCC.
If everything there looks good, what you need to do is give the syllabus to your faculty adviser. They will tell you what the next step will be to pre-approve the course within your university. This process may take a few weeks, depending on their schedule. Once that's taken care of, I'll put you in touch with Seattle Central College, to take care of the rest of the paperwork.
