Conditions

A $750 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your space for programs under 12 weeks. Full term programs require a $400 conditionally-refundable deposit plus the cost of housing.  We will send you a PayPal invoice separately when we accept your application. Having a PayPal account is not necessary to process this payment.

Cancellation Policy

Please click to read our full Terms + Conditions which are binding once you submit this application. A short summary can be found below:

Applicants must be 18 years of age by arrival date.

Your housing and program fees combine to form your reservation fee. Reservation fees are required to make a reservation and are non-refundable. We highly recommend purchasing trip interruption or trip cancellation insurance to cover any financial loss in case you are unable to honor your commitment due to sickness, injury or a government mandated travel restriction. If you have a remaining balance for meal plans or other activities, your remaining balance will be due in full upon arrival at Wild Sun Rescue Center.

If we accept your application, we will send you an invoice to complete your reservation. For full term volunteers this will equal $400 plus the corresponding amount for your chosen housing fee. Interns will incur this fee plus the $1,200+tax internship program fee. For volunteer commitments under 12 weeks the deposit will be $750 with the remaining balance due upon arrival. Full term volunteers and interns can add a meal plan for an additional cost, due upon arrival. 

For full term volunteers and interns the additional $400 deposit is conditionally refundable at the end of the successful completion of the agreed upon term (minus any PayPal transaction fees). It will be forfeited under the following conditions:

  • Fully forfeited in case of any of the following:

    • Cancelled reservations

      • In the case of reservation fees received after August 1st, 2020 your deposit will be refunded or transferred to another date should there be a government issued travel restriction barring arrival for your start date.

    • If leaving the program early for any reason

    • 3 unexcused absences

  • Partially forfeited in case of:

    • Damaged property of Wild Sun Rescue Center or Jungle Resort (cost of damage)

    • Unexcused absence ($50 per day)

    • At Rescue Center's discretion in unforeseen circumstances

In the event that you cannot join us on the agreed upon date, you will be given the option to transfer your reservation to another person and/or to another time, granted you give us at least 30 days notice and the new date is within 2 years of the original start date. If you cancel a second time, half of your deposit will be forfeited but your reservation will still hold. If you cancel a 3rd time, all fees and deposits will be forfeited. Once programs have begun there are no refunds for any payment made. Wild Sun recommends that you purchase travel insurance in case of cancelled or shortened trips.  

Wild Sun Rescue Center makes every effort to ensure the safety of its students. Our first day together, we hold an informational seminar, giving you traveling tips to help guard against the dangers of personal injury or theft in the region. That said, Wild Sun Rescue Center is not responsible for any injury, property damage or loss which might occur to participants while attending any Wild Sun activity or while traveling in or around Costa Rica. By submitting this form to Wild Sun you are declaring that you have read and agree to this statement as written and intended.
